And the best Dennis Hopper movie is…

June 8, 2010

APOCALYPSE NOW!

Despite being a late entry in the game, folks, we have ourselves a winner. Still awfully confused as to how Frank Booth didn’t run away with it, but since Dennis was the man and I doubt that we’ll ever have another lunatic like him to entertain us the way he did, I am very cool with that.

We miss ya’ already, brother.

RESULTS
Blue Velvet: 13 votes (Pabst Blue Ribbon should have written him a check for this one)
Speed: 7 votes
Easy Rider: 4 votes
True Romance: 7 votes
Apocalypse Now: 15 votes
Super Mario Bros.: 2 votes (Oh, Bowser, someone out there likes you)
– Other: 2 votes for Hoosiers, 2 votes for Waterworld, 1 vote for River’s Edge and 1 vote for The Last Ride.

Everyone, give it up for Dennis.

A likely winner and a great film. I can’t think of a more memorable performance than his turn in Blue Velvet, but I do struggle to think of a more memorable film than Apocalypse Now.

    YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Could there really be any other? Even though his role is small, it’s key to the last act and very memorable.

He has a key role at the end of a very powerful film. Glad to see others voted for this performance as well.

Good point, except for Old Ben, he seemed like a good dude.

I already voted, but if I could do it again, I would totally go with Other, and vote for Kyle Katarn! Anyone know who that is?

My best friend is the biggest Star Wars fanboy you’ll ever meet, oh yes, I know who Kyle Katarn is, and SW fanboys love Kyle Katarn. Would have been a very cool vote.

Huh. I would have thought “Easy Rider” would have killed the competition. That would have been my vote. But you never can tell what the people want, I guess.

Drop that knowledge!
