About the Author

Hey there,

My name’s Aiden and…

– I dig movies, they’re generally pretty awesome.

– I currently reside in beautiful Vermont with my lovely wife and dog-like cat.

High Noon‘s my No. 1.

– Death From Above 1979 is a great band that you might not have heard of.

– The Once and Future King by T.H. White and Cat’s Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. are the best books I’ve ever read.

– Final Fantasy VII is the best game I’ve ever played.

The Twilight Zone is the best show I’ve ever seen, but that Battlestar Galactica remake gave it a real run for its money.

– Mexican food is good. Real good. All about the mole sauce, baby.

– beer is good, too.

I guess that kinda covers it. Thanks for reading!

– Aiden R.

I will have to check out The Once and Future King. Maybe you are going to start a book blog one of these days?

    • September 15, 2010 3:05 pm

It’s on the agenda, just need to either A) get someone to pay me to do this full-time for a living, or B) become friends with a total bookworm who loves to write. only time will tell.

And definitely read The Once and Future King. It’ll melt your face with awesomeness.

Love your blog and I’ve only read one post so far, to quote you, and a bunch of other busy people: “not enough hours in the day”. I just watched Tennesee Williams’ “the loss of a pearl earring” or something like that, maybe it was diamond earring. I loved it. watched it twice.
    have a happy day.

    • October 4, 2010 10:13 am

Never heard of that, but Williams was the man, will check it out. Thanks for visiting!

“The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond”. may not be your cup o tea, but this 46 year old college student/mother/new blogger/cyclist/crazy woman loved it.

Your tasted in video games is awesome! On a possible note you might enjoy playing Dragon Age 2. GOW3 was awesome and I hope they do make another one. Puzzle solving with action is just great.

    • May 16, 2011 12:11 pm

Thanks, man. Yeah, I’ve heard nothing but good things about the Dragon Age games (and I’ll vouch for any Bioware game after playing through Knights of the Old Republic back in college), really need to check those out ’cause I could a good RPG after the epic disappointment of FFXIII. And GOW3 was totally awesome. Been a while since I played through the first two, but really had a blast with 3, maybe the most fun I’ve had with any of ’em.

Dear Aiden, we love your blog and we’re always waiting for your next comments (we’re movie buffs…) It’s the honesty of it and the way you describe everything that does it for us (Rosie & Feralbulb). We – in some remote way – also write about movies. In truth, we write about celebrities. We’d love it if you’d visit our blog: http://www.feralbulb.wordpress.com sometime.

Thanks! Dig your blog and keep it up. I’ve actually never read anything but Zadie Smith and keep hearing great things about White Teeth. Are the rumors true?

  29. July 26, 2012 2:52 pm

O Dear Aidan, 1. White teeth: no nonsense, very funny and it ought to be next on your reading list if we may. 2. As to the “rumours” – we’re more comfortable dubbing them “shared insights” or “enlightened reinforcements” – they are meant to be true: they’re born out of tarot cards and we’re serious about it. Some of it errs on the wild side because we do like a little gossip (but decent) and if Rosie lets me, I enjoy a fair amount of bitching. Besides, we can’t help our attention-seeking issues. Now, our readings’ famous recipients haven’t yet confirmed or denied any of our insights. Would you like us to do a reading for you? You’ll be our first resident writer-blogger? You may censor us before hand to your own taste and we promise to stick to your strictest instructions (just don’t tell Rosie about this). Or perhaps you’d like us to stick to Emma Stone next?

    Feralbulb

    • August 15, 2012 4:08 pm

      1. Just picked up White Teeth for 8 bucks at Barnes and Noble last week. Added to the top of my list…as soon as I finish all my required reading for this year’s adaptations (Wuthering Heights, Life of Pi (again), Anna Karenina, Cloud Atlas…you get the idea).

      2. I am flattered by the offer, truly. And nothing against you or Rosie, but having my future predicted by people who do it professionally has always kind of freaked me out. Just look at MacBeth. Things didn’t work out too good for that guy now, did they? All the same, thanks for tempting offer, but Emma Stone can absolutely take my spot.

Sorry for the delayed response, btw. Life be crazy.

  30. August 23, 2012 3:10 pm

Aw. Thanks Aiden for even considering me advice on books to read. I look forward to reading YOUR book one day, and I’m not predicting anything:) In the meantime, I (and even Rosie) keep looking forward to your new posts. All the best now.
    Feralbulb

Thanks for reminding me about White Teeth! Nearly forgot about it there, and when the day comes that I actually do write this damn book in my head, I’ll be forwarding you a copy. Keep on keeping on and thanks for reading!
