And the Best Director of 2010 is…

February 5, 2011

CHRISTOPHER NOLAN!

Damn, son. The people have spoken and they are not leaving quietly. Looks like Fincher’s got the best chance at actually winning that Oscar, but the Academy can officially go eff themselves for gypping Chris this year.

But don’t worry, kids. Chris’ll get his due one of these days. Dude is a beast.

RESULTS:
– Christopher Nolan: 21 votes
– David Fincher: 9 votes
– Darren Aronofsky: 6 votes
– The Coen Bros.: 3 votes
– David O. Russell: 1 vote
– Tom Hooper: 0 votes (ouch)
– Other: 1 vote for “Uwe Boll – BloodRayne 3: The Third Reich” (maybe next year).

And just as an FYI, anything that’s even remotely related to Leo from here on out will always warrant Struttin’ Leo. Hope that’s cool with you guys.

Ahah, he’s obviously happy w/ the poll results!

Well your readers and you are way smarter than the Academy obviously 😀

Nolan deserves the title of best director of 2010, can’t argue there.

      Really? It’s unarguable?

Well you can argue it, man. That’s the wonderful thing about non-unanimous voting polls. Nolan’s not my #1 either, but hey, different stroke for different folks.

Try finding another film this year that depended on direction more than Inception.

Woo! Nolan! Some small recognition for a guy who keeps getting unfairly overlooked… oh well, one day maybe….
Also STRUTTIN’ LEO!! I’d like to see more of that on here which is good since you’ve promised it.
    Great blog, as ever.
Oh and PS can you get back to my DM on Twitter? Don’t mind if it’s yes or no but just need some clarity instead of hanging around! Thanks 🙂

Haha. Glad to see the love for Struttin’ Leo. And a day will certainly come when Nolan gets his due. Just has to happen.

And I’ll get back to your DM asap, apparently Twitter does a shit job of telling me that I have new DMs. DAMN YOU, TWITTER!

I guess that was a good call. 🙂 Inception is an imaginative movie, and visually, it was awesome!

Yeah, man. Nolan got screwed. And Debra Granik got screwed cuz she’s a chick. And Lisa Cholodenko got screwed cuz she’s lesbian. And the director of Toy Story 3 got screwed cuz it’s a cartoon. And Danny Boyle got screwed just because. You said it, man.

    Five Directors Snubbed by Oscar!

Hahaha. Yeah, there was a lot of that going around this year. Seems like Nolan got it the worst though. Politics, man.

      And thanks for visiting!
