And the ultimate cowboy is…

August 10, 2010

CLINT!

Can’t say I was expecting a landslide in the least, but it’s never easy to go up against a god, now is it? You’re still the man, Johnny, but the people have spoken.

Man, what a badass.

Wow…heavy defeat for the Mr Wayne. I guess it helps if you’re still alive it seems! 😉

lol, also helps that he’s still a total effing badass.

I think Mr Eastwood makes a better cowboy because he’s not as pyshically intimidating (he’s not as “big” as Wayne was, hulking over his co-stars) and relies more on his snarling demeanour and piercingly angry eyes. Perhaps more brain than brawn.

Plus, Mr Eastwood always loved a good piece of hickory.

Well said. Clint made a little go a long way. Didn’t have that quarterback look like Wayne. Man, what a snarler.

Never been a John Wayne fan. I think Eastwood more accurately portrays what a lot of cowboys were really like during that era of American history. John Wayne is the more campy version.

In his defense, Wayne was a badass in his own right. Just check out The Searchers or True Grit, dude was no joke, but he was never a mean motherfucker who made it look easy like Clint. Earlier stuff was definitely more campy. But comparing Leone to Ford is apples and oranges anyway. Man, I need to do a Western marathon.

John Wayne all the way!!! This has got to be a fix.

There will be a thorough investigation on the matter, but then again, there’s no denying Clint, homey.

@Dan; Haha, that’s so true. How quickly we forget. I would have put John Wayne as my fave, although that I’m still a big Clint fan.

Drop that knowledge!
