And the best SNL movie is…
May 31, 2010
Hmmmm. Well, that was quite the shut-out. Maybe I should have gone for worst SNL movie. Some day…
Solid voting all the same, folks. Easily the best of the bunch, but you already know that.
RESULTS:
– The Blues Brothers: 24 votes
– MacGruber: 0 votes (feeling crazier by the minute that I liked this so much)
– Wayne’s World: 15 votes
– Wayne’s World 2: 1 vote
– Coneheads: 1 vote
– A Night at the Roxbury: 3 votes
– 2 votes for Superstar (the only thing I remember about that movie is some kid doing a Star Wars impression by doing the robot during a talent show, apparently that really resonated with some folks)
Rawhide!

I’m a Wayne’s World person at heart, but I think that The Blues Brothers deserve the win. I’m surprised that Wayne’s World II got less votes than A Night at the Roxbury despite an abundance of Christopher Walken, but I suppose any Wayne’s World fans probably loaded their votes to the first film.
Yeah, I was actually kind of surprised the second one even got a vote, but like you said, Walken counts for something.
Films inspired by Saturday Night Live are actually quite a sorry bunch. Blues Brothers for me any day. A vote for best Saturday Night Live performer films would increase the field and highlight some real comedy classics – not that Blues Brothers isn’t but at least it would have some competition.

That SNL performer poll is a-comin’ any week now. Good call, man.
Cool…I’ll sure stop by to add my two penny worth!
I’m a little surprised to see Night at the Roxbury to have done so poorly, but I am in nothing but agreement with The Blue’s Brothers. Its about the only film here that separates itself from the pack. MacGruber… oh, man.
haha, i saw your review and didn’t comment because i feel like the black sheep of the crowd. funny stuff, man, not sure why i’m in the minority on this one.
it’s okay lol, everybody has that terrible, terrible film they find funny or love… mine is/was Eurotrip
As much dumb fun Roxbury is I had to vote for Blues Bros.
Good man.
I wanted to vote, but I didn’t care for any of them! Where was “It’s pat!” — JOKING!!! Just goes to show me that SNL skits do not make for very good full-length fare.
Not even Blues Brothers? You make me sad.
The general public is wrong. It is definitely Waynes World.
That being said, if one were to beat Waynes World, I would best accept Blues Brothers as that successor.
