And the worst trilogy is…

April 26, 2010

STAR WARS: EPISODES I – III!

Barely edging out Brett Ratner – The King of the Hacks himself – at the eleventh hour, we have ourselves a winnah!

George Lucas, man. What in the eff happened? First Jar-Jar, then little Ani, then Hayden Christensen crying like a bitch…yeesh. Times best forgotten.

Hard to fathom how a series can fall so far from the tree, but Episode III was pretty solid, I’ll give you that.

Good voting, folks! You make me happy!

RESULTS:
Star Wars I-III: 16 votes
The Matrix: 2 votes (thank God for that first one)
Pirates of the Caribbean: 7 votes
Underworld: 10 votes (amazing they managed to get three movies out if this)
Austin Powers: 2 votes
Rush Hour: 15 votes
The Mummy: 12 votes
– Other: 1 vote for Twilight (commendable, but unfortunately there’s one more movie to go after Eclipse) and 1 vote for High School Musical (well played, good sir).

Count your blessings, Brett. You won’t get off so easy next time.

hahahahaha! that’s going in the Rush Hour review. It was a close race all the same and I’m glad I’ll have you right there the next time around to thrash this mother effer with me.

I don’t care what they say, I will always stand by the The “New” Star Wars trilogy. I always liked them although I will admit they could have been stronger, but that Third one was great.

I stand by the new Trilogy too. Fuckers.

The new Star Wars truly is the worst, or at least the most disappointing trilogy of all time. So many high hopes going into that one. I’ve never understood how so many can say that Episode III is the best of the worst though. Episode III is by far the most offensive of them all, because in trying to connect to the real trilogy, it only succeeds in frustrating and angering the viewer. And really, the movie has a scene with Obi-Wan riding a dinosaur, chasing a coughing robot on a motorcycle. Huh? WTF. Also, I like my Darth Vader as Darth Vader, not as Frankenstein.

Haha, don’t recall the dino riding and black lung robot chase scene, but I thought III was leaps and bounds ahead of the first two even though it pales in comparison to the original trilogy. Really got to get around to this SW marathon I keep postponing. And thanks for visiting!

For me the first two didn’t connect to the originals so they were bad, but contained. Ep III connected a lot of things poorly, so I was more frustrated about it.

I did the SW marathon thing last summer. It was enjoyable even if three of the movies are awful. I even tried to watch that Clone Wars movie they put out but I couldn’t get all the way through it. It was terrible.

Yeah, it was a tough call. There was something real shitty about all those picks. Think I would have voted for Rush Hour though.

I’ll stand up for “Rush Hour.” The sequel and the third one weren’t anything original, just more of the same, but Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker are like a modern-day odd couple (minus the Caucasian-ness). Although I would like to bombard TBS with requests for them to STOP PLAYING THE MOVIES every other day.

Drop that knowledge!
