Damn right it is!
Been meaning to do a write-up on Part II for a while now, and this might just be the week to do it.
Good voting, folks, and if you still haven’t seen ’em, what in sam hell is taking you?
RESULTS:
– Part I: 17 votes
– Part II: 11 votes
– Part III: 1 vote (talk about unnecessary)
– Haven’t seen ’em: 8 votes (for shame…)
Looks like yet another marathon is in order. Too many darn marathons on my plate…

Good lord, voting for III really freakin’ backfired on that guy/gal. Whoever you are, it’s okay, just…just don’t do that again. Life is still worth living.
Part I is the safe bet, but we all know that Part II is deeper …… and it has the donkey show scene.
Oh, and that scene where Kay tells Michael that she had an abortion. So awesome.

Has there been any better “descent to darkness” performance on film than Pacino as Michael? The only other thing I can compare to it is Bryan Cranston in Breaking Bad.
For me it was too close to call, but I did vote for Part I. The person who voted for Part III should reveal him/herself! I’m just curious on why they feel it’s better, would definitely be a interesting conversation at the very least. Or it could of been a joke vote for all we know haha.
I’m in the Part I boat. Thinking the Part III vote goes back to someone finally realizing that Sofia Coppola is the best actress of this or any generation.
I think Part I was the stronger, if only because Marlon Brando has the performance of his freakin’ life. And boy what a life of stellar performances he had. One of the only movies I can say with all honesty that never gets old no matter how many times you watch it.
I have always preferred I (wow, I sound egomaniacal), but I can understand II being more popular, it is just a bigger, deeper and arguably richer film. Why to I prefer I? Because it’s just a little bit more beautiful and the tinest bit more elegant. In my opinion.
I am more than a little surprised it won though.
And whoever voted for III has suffered enough: they will live with the shame of forever picking III as the best Godfather film. Even if it was a joke, that will haunt you the rest of your film-going life.
