#10 was great, and was originally number 2 on my list, but progressively got lower. Ended up at number 11.
#9 Again high on my list, but progressively dropped, probably my number 12 pick. Loved the book, but actually found the movie a bit better.
#8 I think 500 days is incredibly overrated, it was OK, a 3/5 at best for me.
#7 never saw it, but hear good things!
#6 Another one I felt was overrated, but still very good. a 4/5, maybe 4 1/2, maybe 3 1/2. I’m very indecisive about it, I have mixed feelings. Definitely didn’t deserve Oscar.
#5 yet another I found overrated. 2/5, I saw it twice in theaters, just got worse the second time. I also felt Colin Firth did nothing special.
#4 Never saw but definitely want to.
#3 Definitely a powerful movie, my number 8 of the year.
#2 Great movie, my number 9.
#1 overrated, but still charming and fun. 4/5, no where as good as Wall-E (5/5).

So i find a lot of things overrated, and find a lot of underrated movies to be gems. It’s all opinion!

It’s one of my favorites of the year and it saddens me that so many seemed to have overlooked it. Just rewatched it the other night and it’s just as astounding as it was when I watched it earlier in the year.

But I agree…2009 was a damn fine year for movies. I notice many bloggers have been short-changing it, but I had a great time at the cinemas and consider it one of the better years of the decade.
